Susan Randell
BVSc DACVIM (SAIM) MRCVS Head of Internal Medicine, UK
Sue was born in London, but grew up in South Africa where she qualified as a vet at the University of Pretoria (Onderstepoort). She was in general practice in Cape Town before moving to Florida in the USA for an internship and residency in small animal internal medicine.  Following her training, she was in academic and private referral practices in Florida for 12 years before moving to the UK to join the IDEXX team as an internal medicine consultant in Wetherby in 2012. She has been the Head of Internal Medicine since 2014. When not at work, Sue enjoys exploring the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. She also loves to travel, both to see the sights and to spend time with her friends and family who are scattered far and wide. She has recently bought an old house which is taking up a lot of her free time, but she also likes to read and because she really enjoys cooking and eating good food, she runs, very slowly and quite ungracefully, several times a week.

Susana Silva
DVM DipECVIM-CA CertSAM MRCVS Internal Medicine Consultant
Susana Silva graduated from the University of Porto, Portugal, in 2001.
After working in small animal practice, she undertook a small animal internship and was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Medicine Certificate (CertSAM) in 2007. She completed residency training in small animal medicine at the University of Bristol in 2009 and was awarded the European Diploma in Veterinary Small Animal Medicine (DipECVIM-CA) in 2010. Since then she has been working in private referral practice in the UK. She joined IDEXX as an internal medicine consultant in 2016. Susana is passionate about most subjects within internal medicine but has a special interest for haematology, respiratory medicine and gastroenterology.
Alison Hall
MA Vet MB, DipECVIM-CA MRCVS Internal Medicine Consultant
Alison qualified in 2001 from Cambridge University and previously worked in mixed and referral equine practice before moving into small animal first-opinion practice. Alison undertook her residency in small animal internal medicine at Cambridge University and subsequently worked in referral small animal practice for 3 years before joining the IDEXX internal medicine consulting service in 2014. Alison holds the European Diploma in Internal Medicine (Companion Animals). She has an interest in endocrinology, hepatology and infectious diseases. She lives in Sussex where her husband owns a small animal practice. Her outside interests include photography, dancing (jive), fencing and dressage.
Yvonne McGrotty
BVMS CertSAM DipECVIM-CA MRCVS Internal Medicine Consultant
Yvonne graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1997. After 2 years in small animal practice she returned to Glasgow Vet School where she completed a residency in small animal medicine. Yvonne was awarded the European Diploma in Small Animal Medicine in 2006 and is both a RCVS and European Veterinary Specialist in Internal Medicine. Yvonne has more than 10 years of experience working in private referral practices in Essex, Stirling and Glasgow. She also has previous experience working for a veterinary diagnostic laboratory. Yvonne joined IDEXX part time in October 2013 as an internal medicine consultant and continues to work in private referral practice in Stirling. 
Nicola Siebeck
Dr Med Vet, MRCVS Internal Medicine Consultant
Nicola graduated from the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany in 2003. She was awarded her DrMedVet degree in 2005 after completing a research fellowship at the University of Georgia in the USA. She completed an internship and a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the Vetsuisse University in Zurich, Switzerland. During her residency she gained experiennce in both general and referral practices. Prior to joining IDEXX in 2013 she worked in a referral centre in the UK for four years. Nicola enjoys all aspects of internal medicine. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her partner, her son and the family dog. 
Brigitte Wilkens
Dr Med Vet, MRCVS Diplomate ECVIM-CA Internal Medicine Consultant
After qualifying from Free University in Berlin 2002, Brigitte spent two years in a small animal practice in Germany. There she realized her main focus of interest is internal medicine and decided to specialize in this area. She started an internship at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Hannover, and subsequently took up a residency in internal medicine. Following her training, she moved to the UK and worked in two different referral practices in Suffolk and Surrey, before joining Idexx as an internal medicine consultant in 2013.  Brigitte enjoys all aspects of internal medicine with a particular interest in endocrine diseases, gastroenterology, and hematology.  She also continues to work part time in practice. In her free time, she enjoys family life with her husband, her 2 children, and her very lively and naughty dog Fiene.

Richard Elders
MVB, CertSAM, DACVIM (SAIM), DECVIM-CA (Onc), Msc (Clin Onc), MRCVS Oncology and Internal Medicine Consultant
Richard graduated from University College Dublin in 1999. He completed an internship at the University of Glasgow and was in first opinion small animal practice on the west coast of Scotland thereafter. He completed his ACVIM Internal Medicine residency and mast cell tumour-based PhD at the Royal Veterinary College in 2005 and 2008, respectively. He worked in private referral Oncology practices until 2013, and during this time he earned his ECVIM-CA Oncology Diploma. Having most recently worked as a Senior Lecturer in Oncology at the University of Edinburgh, Richard joined IDEXX in June 2016, to start an Oncology consulting service. Richard’s main professional interests are mast cell tumours, novel diagnostics and immunotherapeutics, but he is experienced in all aspects of veterinary oncology and can also offer advice about internal medicine cases. His non-veterinary interests include baking and comedy.

Krista Visser 't Hooft
DVM, DACVIM (SAIM), MRCVS Internal Medicine Consultant
Krista graduated from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands in 2001. She completed an internship at the University of Utrecht and subsequently became a junior lecturer in small animal medicine and fertility. Following this she completed a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and she became a Diplomate of the American College of Internal Medicine in 2009. She has worked in several busy private referral practices in the USA and the UK before joining Idexx in May 2016. Krista enjoys all aspects of internal medicine but she has particular interest in endocrinology and gastro-enterology.
Ana Jacinto
DVM DipECVIM-CA, MRCVS Internal Medicine Consultant
After graduating from the University of Vila Real in 2001, Ana spent several years working in general practice in Portugal before undertaking an internship at Cambridge University. This was followed by a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Edinburgh where Ana continued as a locum lecturer for a few months. Ana then worked as a locum lecturer in small animal medicine at the University of Évora in Portugal. After a short period in private practice in Portugal and in a veterinary hospital in Paris, Ana returned to the UK to work in a large referral centre in Hertfordshire for two years, before joining the IDEXX team as an internal medicine consultant in 2016.
Kate Murphy
BVSc (Hons) DSAM DipECVIM-CA MRCVS PGCert(HE) Internal Medicine Consultant
Kate graduated from the University of Bristol in 1996 and completed her residency in Small Animal Medicine there in 2000. She worked in private practice for 2 years and then returned to the University of Bristol from 2002 until 2011, where she was a Senior Clinical Fellow in Small Animal Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care and Medicine Team Leader. Kate has since worked as a Small Animal Medicine Referral Clinician in private referral practice in South West England and was most recently Clinical Director at a busy multidisciplinary referral centre. She gained the RCVS certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 1999, the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Medicine in 2003 and the ECVIM Small Animal Medicine diploma in 2003. Kate is an RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Medicine and a European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine and has interests in all aspects of medicine. She is co-author of a textbook “notes on canine internal medicine” and “Differential Diagnosis in the Dog” and is also an author on a number of peer-reviewed publications, continuing education articles and book chapters. Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with her two daughters, husband and dog.
